The Unicorn have eight separate mounted units for me to represent, which can loosely be divided into three types: Spear, Sword and Bow.
Pendraken produce two mounted Samurai variations: Spear & Bow. If there was a third, Sword armed variation, then it all becomes much easier but for now I'm working with only two mounted variations. If there are no sword weilding mounted figures available then I'll simply have to clip the spears down. At this scale the shape isn't really going to shop so long as it is painted silver people will simply imagine sword blades because they expect them.
I could distinguish units through figures per base and/or colour scheme. Given the scale I think this will look better if both of those are kept consistent throughout. Fortunately the back banners are separate and optional and these look like becoming the distinguishing factor.
- Heavy Armour = Banners
- More Koku = More Banners
Resulting in...
- Battle Maidens: 4 banners per stand
- Heavy Lancers: 1 banners per stand
- Ide Lancers: Light Armor, Yari @ 64 Koku per stand
- Shinjo House Guard: Heavy Armor; Katana @ 116 Koku per stand
- Shinjo's Thunder: Heavy Armor, No-dachi @ 96 Koku per stand
- Moto Chargers: Light Armor, No-dachi @ 92 Koku per stand
- Iuchi Scouts: Light Armor, Katana @ 68 Koku per stand
- Shinjo Horsebowmen: Light Armor; Dai-kyu @ 96 Koku per stand
