Not that they have any official use in the Clan War rules, but they do come in handy for all sorts of things. The most obvious use is as wound markers when dealing with 2+ Wound figures. Besides, it always cheers my opponent to litter the battlefield with dead Crane figures.
The models are from Peter Pig miniatures (Range 6, Pack 15). I believe that they were originally intended for a Samurai skirmish game that is either not yet finished or has been shelved indefinitely.Eventually, I settled on painting them in the Crane colours of my own army. My first thought was to paint them up in the colours of dead opponents. Unfortunately, with so many potential enemies, I couldn't decide which opposing army to choose. This way they match at least one of the forces on the battlefield (which always looks nice) and it is then down to opponents to provide their own corpses.
